Loren Smith is a fictional character in a series of novels by Clive Cussler. She first appears in the novel Vixen 03.
She is a congresswoman from Colorado, and is a long time companion to Dirk Pitt, an adventurous special project director for NUMA (National Underwater and Marine Agency), he undergoes many death-defying missions to save the world and the marine environment.
Described as having beautiful cinnamon brown hair with violet colored eyes, and a good sense of humor, Loren Smith plays a strong role in quite a few of Cussler's novels. She is also known for her great style, prefering simple but very femine looks. Her signature is matching her briefcase to the exact color she is wearing. In Trojan Odyssey, Loren finally marries Dirk Pitt.
